19 September 2021: We would like to give a huge congratulations to everyone selected to represent Scotland in the upcoming Home Nations Cup in Belfast, but in particular we want to give a shout out to Kirsty Gray, Caitlyn Forsyth, and Emer Hefernan, who have been selected in the Scottish Sirens team, as well as Danny Morris, Marc Mason, Dougie Smith, Craig Taylor, and James Reekie who have been selected in the Scottish Clansman team.
Good to see the giants well represented in the national team!
04 September 2021: After finishing 2nd on the ladder, the Giants came up against a strong Edinburgh Bloods team in the SARFL Grand Final for the 2021 season. Conditions were good at Linlithgow Rugby Club, setting the scene for what eventuated into a tight contest.
The giants jumped out of the gate, putting on an early lead by quarter time. Accurately kicking and precise ball movement being a highlight from both clubs.
The bloods cut into the lead in the second, before kicking four unanswered goals in 5 minutes to head into the final term with the lead.
With everything on the line, the giants balls gave it their all in the final quarter. However, with tired legs and against the wind, many shots on goal fell short, and unfortunately we weren't able to catch the lead the Bloods built in the dominant 3rd term.
Final score: 100 Bloods, 80 Giants.
Overall, a fantastic season from our lads. Thanks to all the supporters and volunteers, and a huge congrats to the Bloods. We will be doing our best to chase you next year.

28 August 2021: Congratulations to both or men's and women's sides for winning two tights contests, both games won with a goal in the final seconds.
First, our Giants Women's side got their second win of the season after a tough fight against cross-town rivals, the Glasgow Sharks. Our Women's Captain, Amy G, kicked the winning goal in the final play of the game to finish the match at 59-54.
In similar fashion, it took till the final kick of the game from Andy Myles for the men's team to seal the win against a determined Kingdom Kangaroos team. Final score: 68-73. The win leaves us runner-up on the SARFL ladder, and books a spot in the SARFL grand final, where we will come up against the strong Edinburgh Bloods side.
Both the men's and women's grand finals will be held at Linlithgow Rugby on Saturday 4th September, so get yourself down and support AFL in Scotland. All are welcome!
Thanks again to both the Glasgow Sharks and the Kingdom Kangaroos for cracking games.

The women played in a round robin tournament, with the Edinburgh bloods coming away as eventual winners. Congratulations to Caitlin Forsyth, who was awarded a runner-up best on ground medal. This is a great achievement for any player, but particularly for someone in their debut season!
The men's team came up against our cross-town rivals, the Glasgow Sharks. With clean ball movement, we managed to come away with the victory, final score 110-72 to the Giants. Congratulations to Isaac Nicol-Smith, who made his debut for the Giants.

31 July 2021: The men's team hosted the Tyne Tee Tigers for the third game of the 2021 season. The game was an arm wrestle for most of the day, with the Tigers quick ball movement at times leaving us vulnerable in defence. After a frantic last few minutes, the Giants managed to escape with the victory, final score: 91 Giants, 83 Tigers.
Thanks to the Tigers for a great game.

31 July 2021: The women’s team had a match against the a strong Edinburgh side. While it may not be reflected in the score, we saw much improvement from our girls. Final score: 158-3
Thanks to the Bloods for a fantastic match!
17 July 2021: The men collect the first win of the season against a brave West Lothian Eagles side. Playing at our new home ground at West of Scotland Rugby club, the match was an arm wrestle for three quarters. Strong tackling and pressure from the Eagles led to some inaccurate shots on goal and costly turnovers, but the Giants were able to run away in the last. Final score: 94-57
Thanks to the Eagles for a competitive match. Next we face the Tyne Tee Tigers at home on the 31st July.

17 July 2021: The women’s team start the season with a convincing win against the West Lothian Eagles. A phenomenal effort by our ladies being the first game for many. A particularly strong showing from Juliette Garner who had a massive haul of 8 goals. Final score: 73-43
Thanks to the Eagles for a fantastic match!
03 July 2021: Footy is back! Both the men's SARFL kicked-off and the women's team playing a friendly, both taking on the Edinburgh Bloods in Edinburgh.
It was a tough day for the women’s side, but a great opportunity for many of our new players to get some game experience.
For the men, taking on the reigning premiers first up was always going to be tough. It was a hard fought scrap to begin with, though Edinburgh’s midfield dominance and tackling pressure (plus some inaccurate shots on goal from our boys) led to the home side prevailing: 125-85.
Big congrats to Matt Lambert, Hamish Clark, David King, and Danny Morris for making their Giants debut. Though results didn’t go our way, there was a lot to learn and build on. Thanks to the Bloods for cracking games.
Our next game is at home against the West Lothian Eagles on the 17th of July.

15 June 2019: As the men's team look towards finals, we hosted the West Lothian Eagles in a tough, physical game. The match was a back and forth battle, with both teams capitalising in momentum swings. However, a fantastic 9 goal final term got the Giants over the line 158-111.
